Your location is important for a proper answer.

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area. This is a very new area of law. So we can't really say without knowing the location. Even knowing may not allow us to give a definitive answer since laws specifically addressing this are few.

Definitely, the other parent would have to approve the adoption. And definitely you will need an attorney to file for you.

Uk? Also what do you mean by neither parent mattering? Unless they have had their rights terminated, they matter.

If both parents are deceased, someone is the legal guardian. If you partner adopted, that's one thing. But there could have been next of kin that would have been considered.

Ok, so you are the natural mother of both children. You say the fathers are both deceased?

Then as long as the law in your area allows for same sex adoption you should be good to go. However, if either of the fathers are still alive, they will need to consent to the adoption.
