Converting remote control ceiling fan to normal operation
How can I convert my remote control combo ceiling fan and light to work normal off a light switch? I know I would need some kit to replace the remote receiver in the fan, so that I could manually switch speeds and direction and turn on light. Is there such a kit?
The fan is made by Smartel, Inc. Model CR552 CA and the remote is a R520T. Ant help would be appreciated. I inherited the fan from my son and it is beautiful, but would to use it manual.

Does the fan have pullchains? If not, it is unlikely you can easily wire it to operate without the remote.

No pull chains, and no forward-reverse switch.

It can still be done, but it's one of those "if you have to ask, it's too complicated" projects. The reverse switch is easiest, just a DPDT relay, but the speed selection usually comes from capacitors, and the motor rub capacitor is usually also part of the receiver.
