I think something's wrong with a friend of mine. Ever since my ex-girlfriend showed up at school, this girl gets all teary eyed when talking to me. I ask if she got hurt or anything but she has no cuts or bruises and I know there are no broken bones.

Well, my opinion is that your fren has feelings for you and hence fears losing you. Don't ask her if she is hurt, physically. It'l hurt her even more that you don't know of her feelings.if you like your fren, give her a chance. Take her out and c how things go ( it's your ex that moved to your school, I hope you are not thinking of getting bac with her).

She could be emotionally abused by someone. Tell a counselor or talk to her yourself.
