    Jon Huntsman
Huntsman dropped out of the GOP race tonight. So much for my brilliant predictions where I had him threatening the leaders.

He's the only one I predicted could beat President Obama. Even Republican columnists are now saying Obama will be reelected.

Unless unemployment ticks upwards over the next several months, Obama can't be defeated. Especially by the remaining crop of Republican wannabees.

Just like a very vulnerable George Bush in 2004 couldn't be defeated by Kerry with his "goofy" factor, so a very vulnerable Obama can't be defeated by the comedic slate of the current GOP.

One Republican columnist said in today's Chicago Tribune that Obama is comfortable in his own skin and knows who he is. The current crop of GOP nominees have no idea who they are. The voters know this and don't believe them [the GOP] anymore. The Dems are still smoking Hopium, but the GOP has decided to smoke Dopium. (from John Kass)

A poll on CNN today said that Obama and Romney are nearly tied in support, so it could be a much closer election than last time. I think that most of the red Southern and Western states that voted for Obama last time will go red again this time and Romney might be able to win enough Midwestern and New England states to put him over the top. I think Huntsman would make a great vice president. I even heard that he speaks fluent Chinese.

It's still very early. I'm betting Romney will not be able to stay even with Obama in the polls.

Huntsman doesn't have a prayer. Yes, he speaks Chinese and was Obama's ambassador to China. Several other possibilities for VP are already being discussed. It won't be anyone from the crop of nominees.

The truth is that Huntsman pinned all his hope on the 'no labels ' . Oh he swung hard right during the campaign going from a“sane moderate” image,to a “consistent conservative,” challenging the conservative credentials of Romney and Gingrich. But no one was fooled .When he was called out for working for Obama he adopted McCain's failed campaign slogan 'Country First' .It was Huntsman himself who was uncomfortable in his own skin.

An interesting side note is that his old man is super rich $$$(regularly shows up in Forbes' lists of the world's richest people) ;and wants to be a 21st century Joe Kennedy type . He would've funded Huntsman's campaign if only Huntsman had asked .

But Huntsman has this Oedipal thing going on and never asked his dad for the money. He wanted to outdo his old man ;but on his own terms. (He dropped the 'Jr' from his last name before he began his run... in Utah he is still known a ,Junior').

As far as his VP prospects they are nil. Romney will already win Utah and already has the support of Republic moderates .Perhaps Huntsman will accept the ambassadorship to China under a Romney Adm.

Romney needs to shore up his support among conservative and tea partiers if he wants an enthusiastic base. It helps that he already has the support of TP elected officials like Nikki Haley of South Carolina ;and Kelly Ayote of New Hampshire. (NH would be a nice pick up in the general election) .

I think he will pick a conservative from a key state like Rubio from Florida or Virginia Governor McDonnell .

Maybe he'll pick someone who hunts something besides "varmin " and 'pheasants'or moose....ooops I mean elk (from last night's debate) .He's got a bit of that Boston Bhramin thing going on.

[Romney's] probably never seen a stray cat or would know there are such things as animal shelters (recalling how confused he was checking out groceries).
