Laws on age gaps in Georgia?
Can a 17 year old female be in a relationship with a 27 year old male with sexual activity?

The "age of consent" is the age which a person must be in order to have sex with that person without being guilty of "statutory rape". In Georgia, that age is 16. So if she is 17, she is no longer "jail bait", and having sex with her will not constitute a felony.

Unlike some other jurisdictions, there is no close-in-age exception in Georgia, so the "age gap" would not matter in any case.

I agree, but from a moral point of view. It is unadvisable for a number of reasons, morally and practically, to engage in sex outside of marriage. But this is the "legal" forum, and I suspect the OP is seeking a "legal" answer.

As long as the parents of the 17 year old will give their permission. If the parents of the 17 year old order the adult away from their child, they can not press rape charges but they can after giving the adult a direct order not to see or be with their minor child, the adult will not stay away, they can find other charges to use, Such as interference with custody.

If the act is legal in the eyes of the law there is still a major problem. Contributing to the delinquency of a minor child could raise the offense to a felony depending on the situation.

Also should any recordings take place then child porn charges could be brought. There are so many pitfalls that its inabvisable to say its OK to continue a relationship of that sort and remain legal.
