    Sewer enjector pump
I use to hear this pump going on, however I have not heard this in a while. It makes me a little nervous.

How do I know if it is working or not? I would hate to end up with a mess or call a repair company for no reason.

Can anyone tell me how I can tell if it is working?

    Thanks
    Mary

I do not have a basement toilet... however I'm doing laundry this morning and I came in the basement. I hear water running in the pipes. But I have not heard the enjector pit motor turn on in a while and I use to hear it quite often.

If this pump is not working what could happen or what could get damaged.

    Thank you for your help...

    Hi Mary,
"if this pump is not working what could happen or what could get damaged."

If the pump or the float switch isn't working the discharge would continue to build up in the pit until it began to back up out of the lowest fixture in the system. While things could get wet there would be no damage to the ejector system. Regards, tom

    Thank you Tom,

I was really nervous of a mess in the basement.

I don't know what is hooked up to this system. What is usually connected to this?

I won't rest till I know it is working so I know ill have to get it looked at or is there a way I can test it?

    Thank you again,
    Mary
