I want to put a 50 lb flat screen on a beam that will span 6.5 ft and be supported on both ends by standard walls. I am planning to use hem-fir 6x6x10 ft. Any thoughts or other options?

a 10' 6x6 can hold a great deal more than 50 lbs, should not be aproblem but how will it look?

I hope after it is sanded and stained it looks great. Thanks for your answer. Its always good to have a second opinion
