My question to you is... why do you want to know? If the mother says she has insurance and you think she is lying, I would think she probably has a reason for wanting to keep that information private. How much a nail salon pays depends on several things... if she has to split tips, pay space rent, how many hours she is working, location, base cost of services... etc. If you are truly a concerned friend that she does not have insurance for her newborn maybe, maybe you should have that discussion with her?
