Instead of Emancipation, what are the steps for Independent Living?
I just figured Emancipation would take months before becoming complete and wanted to know more information about Independent Living. I live in Kansas and will be 17 in 5 months.

It looks like you have to be emotionally disturbed in order to qualify and have a paper trail of receiving community-based services. Family Service & Guidance Center Independent Living Skills Is that the case?

Why not just tough it out until you turn 18, since all the legal work will take nearly that long anyway.

Are you already under the care and treatment by CPS. What home evals have been done up to date?
