CREATININE

There are many reasons for creatinine to be tested however, the main reason creatinine is tested is for renal (kidney) finction. It can also be used to assess a known or suspected disorder involving muscles in the absence of renal (kidney) failure.
An increase of creatinine can signify one or more of the following: Acromegaly; congestive heart failure, dehydration, gigantism, hyperthyroidism, polio, kidney stones, kidney disease or failure, and shock.
A decrease in creatinine can signify: decreased muscle mass due to debilitating disease or increasing age, inadequate protein intake, liver disease (severe), pregnancy, and small stature.
I hope this helps. If not, let me know and I will get more medical on you.:p
