This movie must be from the 80's or 90's, but I am not sure. I remember there being a man that painted either a brick wall or a movie screen white. Another scene was a boy looked into the window of a house and got really frightened. I think he was with his friend who shortly after rolled him in a shopping cart. I remember the boy that got frightened was lying in a bed at some point after this and there was a cat with him. If anyone has any idea of what movie this might be I would be so grateful. Thanks!
