Hi All,

My whirlpool fridge suddenly stopped cooling. I was about to go on a vacation, so I stopped my fridge, unplugged the cable and left it for 30 days. After I came back from vacation, I cleaned my fridge and turned it on. It seems to be working [cooling] for a week now. I called a serviceman to check it. He opened the freezer and checked three cables and said everything looks good. He said it might be to do with the defrost mechanism. I am not convinced with his answer because it looks like he is guessing and he did not check properly. Now he said I need to replace the main circuit board next to the compressor. He is quoting around $350 to replace the part $99 for his first visit.

Top freezer /bottom Fridge model. 410 litre

Circuit Board has the model no ONYX410L and A224483000 -- Not sure whether its correct number. Circuit board is in a white box and it got a sticker with the above number.

Can someone please let me know what would be the problem. If it's the timer to defrost I am not sure how come is working for a week now.
