12v Light 3 Wires (White, Blue, Black) NEED HELP ASAP
Hey there I have a Trail bike (Yamaha TTR 125) and recently bought a 12 volt head light online for it! I was all happy but once I looked at the wireing I had a good idea what to do but don't want to risk having a mess up.

    There are three wires
    -Blue
    -White
    -Black

So where I need you help is what is my negative, positive and ground wire?

But could you guys please explain simply because
I am only a 13 year old kid

    Thanks; Jim

Hey Jim, with 12 volts you don't have much to worry about. House wiring and bikes/cars are wired different. In a house the black carries the juice + and the white is neutral -, ground is green or bare. On a car/bike the black is the negative or like a neutral and the colored wire is the +. You have two colored wires so try this test. Put your black wire on the - negative battery terminal and then try the white on positive terminal and then the blue on positive. I think both might light it up with one being brighter. If that happens you need to get yourself a 2 step switch to control high and low beam. If that does not happen, one brighter than the other, just come back and tell us what you got.

That is hard to picture, even a dead short would not caise a light to blow up. Not sure what's going on with your light now. You did connect to the terminals of a 12 volt DC battery, right?
