Hi you guys. So this is the deal I'm 15 years old, but I'm about to be 16 in February on the 18th of 2012. So I asked my mom could I get a tongue piercing but, she won't let me and I'm not a bad child. I make honor roll every time and I am very respectful of what I say to other people and I KEEP MY ROOM CLEAN(I'm a girl by the way). So what should I do to convince her to let me get one? Or else I will just have to get one without her permission, and id hate to go behind her back and do that. Help me please

Show her how having it will help you find a good college, show her how businesses are glad to have employees with them.

Honestly there is no way I know of to convince someone to let you do something that will cause many people to type of as a certain type of person, To do something that cause cause medical issues with no benefit at all.

Sorry, but you'll have to live with her decision. Parents have a multitude of reasons for not allowing body piercings that have nothing to do with how "good" their children are or what their grades look like. If you really want to show your maturity to your mother, do it by respecting her decision and her reasons for it. If you must know what those reasons are, you can ask her what her concerns are, but trying to change her mind won't help. In fact it usually makes a teenager look whiny and childish, which is the opposite of what you want your parent to see.

If its so important to you, wait until you are 18 and make your own decision. Your tongue isn't going anywhere, but maybe the desire to put holes in it will.

She will know, unless you don't talk to her about a month she's going to find out I have one myself, its really not something you need now you should wait until your out her house
