    South Carolina eviction?
My daughter and her "fiance" and their child moved back from Texas to our house in SCV it was supposed to be temporary.
He makes no effort to find a job, but instead is going with the help of some friends to every possibl;e welfare organisation to get free money or services. I told them to gho and find another oplace to live, were as she told me I can't get them to move out without due course. They are not paying any rent, never asked for any either of cours. Do I have to "evict" them?

Have them served with a written notice to vacate (have a process server do this). That gives them 30 days to get their butts out. Then you file to have the sheriffs physically remove then. I assume they have already been there for months and not just a few weeks.

If its only been a few weeks you could change the locks... but if its been a few months they are legally Tennant's. And you have to follow the requirements for eviction.

Now nobody says you have to feed them... or do anything to make them comfortable until then. And if they menace or threaten you , you can call the police and they may put them out sooner.

Once someone has established residency, the safe move is to follow the formal eviction process for your area. Otherwise you could be sued for an illegal eviction.

Check with your local housing court or search for SC evictions to find the exact process. It starts with given them a vacate letter, then goes through filing with the court for an eviction order.
