Replacing shift lever on 5 speed ford explorer transmission
I just replaced my clutch, throw bearing slave and master clutch cylinders. When I went to replace the shift lever had no problem in shifting as I was securing the lever it poped out. I'm not sure if it was in gear or what gear it may have been in. when I put it back in it won't shift its like the transmision is locked up. The shift lever acts like its going in wher it should. Any one with any suggestions please help.

Did you bleed the hydraulic clutch properly and get all of the air out of the system?

Was in the process still acts like it has some air, would that keep the transmission from shifting or acting like it is lock up started the engine with clutch depressed clutch still not releasing yet tranny defiantly in gear, just starting to get some resistance on the clutch pedal

It will make it so the clutch pedal goes to the floor easily without being able to disengage the clutch. You won't be able to shift gears.
