Can I file divorce in ny if I just moved to Florida?
    Hi,

I lived in NY all my life until recently I live in Florida (2months). I want to file for divorce now, Can I file or start a divorce in NY while I'm here temporarily. Or do I have to go back to NY to file? Knowing that I have to have 6 months residiency in Florida. I am moving back to NY anyway within next few months.

You can file as long as you have a NY address.

OK, I just got The Florida because of work related here. But my taxes are is still NY. Would that count? Or use my NY address, like a friends address. That's where I'm going when I get back. Thanks

Yes. In fact I don't know that you actually even have to have an address. If your petition alleges that you are a resident of New York, and of a certain county in that state, where you get your mail is meaningless, as long as your attorney knows how to get in contact with you.
