I just recently bought a house. In a bedroom there is a hole located in the slab near the exterior wall where the oil burner is.. I'm guess at one point they had a leak from oil burner and the dirt from underneath washed away setting in a hole in slab.. In that hole is piping and the oil tank lines for my underground tank.. What should I do to fix this problem so I can start this room.. Thank you...

Can you explain the floor plan more? You make it sound like your boiler is in the bedroom.
Also, what climate are you in, and exactly what pipes are in that hole?
With an underground oil tank (illegal now in most places, even some that were grandfathered in) your big fear is oil leaking. So maybe any hole around pipes is for viewing.

I doubt the hole has anything to do with an oil leak as you would still be smelling it if oil spilled enough to make/require a hole, even years later, OK?

With that being said, like Joypulv, I am not clear on the setup... please provide as much information as possible and if possible, post a picture.

That hole just didn't just get there by itself. Someone had to break up the slab. Can you contact the seller and ask? In the meantime I'd fill the hole with dirt and patch the hole. Good luck, Tom
