    Why am I getting hot water through my water line to refrigerator?
    It is hooked up to the cold water line but when I got shut off valve off and hot on its still coming out of hose why
    ?

    I have a water line right above my cold water shutoff vavle coming out of a tee going to fridge I shut off the cold water valve and my son was in the sink with hot water running and water was still coming out of my water line to refergerator

    It doesn't make any sense, Unless you take convection into the mix. Unless you have crossconnection, (and it doesn't sound like you have one that's the only answer I can come up with. On a side note in my area we have been connecting our ice maker lines to the hot water supply. The reason being that when water sets in a water it dioxides. That means less bubbles in the water and a clearer ice cube. Because water will set and pick up room te temperature
    It doesn't make much difference it the supply is hot or cold. And now you know the rest of the story. Regards. Tom

    Do you have hot water recirculating pump installed in your house ? How far is your water heater from the fridge ? Back to you. Milo

    There was a topic like this on Ask This Old House a few weeks back. The problem they discovered was that upstream from where the problem was occurring, a faulty Hot Water Balancer from the shower had a torn diaphram allowing the hot water to traverse through the cold water pipe to the upstream faucet. You may need to backtrack the water line to see what is above it and see if that is the culprit. I hope this is helpful.
