    Stripping wood paneling
I have cherry wood paneling in my family room. How do I strip it?

I'd think of either painting it or taking it down and replacing it with the one you want it would make more sense and be a lot better project.

Stripping paneling is not usually a very good idea. Painting it or replacing it would probably work out better for you in the long run and give you a much nicer look. Stripping paneling is difficult because of the grooves and or texture of the wood grain. It is not as easy to strip as other types of wood.
