    How to ask adult nephew its time to move out of my house
    My 22 year old nephew has lived with me 3 1/2 years got fired over a year ago has not had any money coming in at all . He won't look for a job is lazy and I want him out of my house. I have politly asked him to find another place . It goes in one ear and out the other. I want him gone asap.

    This is a legal question - evict him according to your State's laws.

    Post the State and I (or someone else) will post the law.

    I moved this from the Other Family and People forum. The first answer is you don't "ask" him. You tell him. While you can initially be polite about it, if he ignores you then stop being polite.

    If there was an agreement for him to pay rent and he hasn't, then you can give him a pay or quit notice. Otherwise you give him a vacate notice. A written letter like this:

    This is to notify <insert his name>that effective <insert date> your residency at <insert address> will be terminated. Please vacate the premises by that date or I will be forced to pursue legal avenues to evict.

    The date will depend on your locale as laws vary.

    Hello, yes you will merely have to evict him, You give him notice, and if he does not move, you file for eviction in court.
