I have cronic pain due to skin disorder my Dr has me on vicordin other day when I stopped in need a urine in front of people in waiting room before we can give you your script.I was like huh? I was embarrassed people heard what the scrpit was and they stated new office procedures on control drugs.. etc... I did the test but I was floored.. on how they handled it and spoke to someone else they are on same med too but didn't make them do a urine test... and if this is a new office thing stated by the medeical faculity why wasn't letters sent out or even posted? I live in NY any ideas? I'm really thinking about a lAWYER FEEL HIPPA LAWS WERE BROKEN

They didn't violate HIPAA by speaking about it within earshot of others in the room.
You were free to find another doctor.
The doctor has the right to get urine from some and not others. The ones he is sure aren't going to multiple doctors he probably is letting go.
His license could be on the line.
I have a friend with a new and painful hip who just moved back here and is having a tough time finding a doctor who will prescribe Vicodin at all.

The office is free to test you, if they have a reason to suspect

Is this a new doctor, or did your doctor just go to a new office. If you don't like this doctor, find a new one,
