What does audio visual counterpoint mean in sound production

The term is more a theoretical one than a technical one... and it's not about only sound production, but audio-visual.

It has to do with when the viewer/listener is in conflict with what is seen and heard, such as watching a car crash but hearing a baby crying. Or seeing a couple kiss, but hearing a gunshot.
