My girlfreind move to ghana a well back and now want to move back to the states so we can marry. Her visa and passport expired and she lost ID.She sent me email of the cost that total close to $3000 for passport, visa, plane fare. She was born here in state in Kansas. What can we do and is there a less cost then what they giving her? The email was paper from the ghana civil aviation authority/ wefly247 passport$225/ medical report $210/ police report $150/ visa$250/ ticket $1,650.Is all this true or is something that has not been told us.

A US passport (new) is $165. Plane fare? No idea and it changes. I'm looking at $1,200 to Kansas City - of course, I have no idea where she's landing.

The Passport Office will "run" her Police check - that's part of the cost of the passport. There's no additional charge.

If she's a US citizen replacing her passport she doesn't need a medical report.

Why does she need a visa if she's a US citizen, coming back to the US on a passport?

Something here is very definitely not correct.

Is she someone you met on the Internet? There has to be more to the story - she has been living in Ghana with an expired Passport and nobody asked her about it?

I'm sorry to say but this sounds like an online girlfriend whom you have never met in person.
It's an extremely common scam.
I suppose there could be a new scam where they hire a woman in the states to pose as the one in Ghana.
Or she comes over here, meets as many men as she can, and then says she's back in Ghana and isn't.
These are all scams to get money out of you.
If I'm wrong, it's one in a million.
