What usually happens in a fraud by leasing case?
I am 34 years old, and I rented a T.V. From Aarons, and it was stolen from my house. I filed a police report, took it too Aarons, and told them it was stolen. They kept coming to the house trying to get the T.V. I let them come in and see that it wasn't there. Anyway, they sent a detective to come to my house. I told him I didn't have the T.V. and they arrested me and charged me with a felony of theft by fraudulent leasing. What can I do? I haven't been indicted yet, but I am really scared. I have never been in trouble before, and I don't have any money and don't know what to do. What are the chances that I will be indicted?

I don't know. Without any proof that you don't have the TV, I can't see them getting an indictment, let alone getting the prosecutor to prosecute. However, they may have filed the charge in an attempt to sue you for the TV. And that they may likely win.

I'm guessing here that you don't have renter's insurance which would have covered the theft.
