80 hours as a detection window for EtG applies to only the more extreme cases. It does not relate to lower levels of alcohol intake. (1)

Nevertheless, when calculating elimination time it is better to use BAC=0 as your baseline. So long as alcohol is in your system EtG is still being created via metabolism.
