    Question about cable Use
I have a cable ran from box to a box in garage when I moved in to my new house. It has a red black and a bare there is no white. It's awg 4 ca. Was wondering what this could have been ran for was thinking a 4 pole switch but no white. I'm guessing it's for some type of double pole breaker but what type of outlet.

It was probably for a sub panel, or a range or some other 240 volt device.

It can no longer be used for a subpanel.

It can be used for a 240 volt device.

What do you have in mind for it?

To confirm, it is a #4 copper, two insulated and one bare?

    What type of sheathing?
