    Soil vent?
After 40 years I had a new drain field and septic system installed. Ever since there has been a strong sewer smell coming from the soil vent. Depending on which way the wind is blowing it can be very obnoxious when I'm outside. I did not notice this with the old septic system. I realize that is the purpose of the soil vent but it just doesn't seem right to be so smelly around the house. Any ideas?/ Thanks, Jim

By "soil vent" are we talking about a vent pipe out of your septic tank or the stack vent in your house? Back to you, Top

I have two coming out of the house. One over the kitchen that is OK and one over the bathroom that reeks.
