Never have anal sex without a condom, firstly. There are arguments for and against, the bacteria for one, some people believe it's immoral etc.

I am voting no sex in any form.

This is ultimately a question you need to discuss with her doctor. Most women with this pregnancy complication are extremely limited in what they are allowed to do especially if they are allowed to remain at home. I do not think sex, anal or otherwise, will be allowed by the doctor. The risk to your wife and child's lives is too great. Why not play it safe and wait until your child is born and both are healthy before resuming your sexual relations?

You know there is a third choice... other than celbicy during this period. That's not going to put the pregnancy at risk.

I'm am sure your wife's doctor has put her on pelvic rest, this means that she should avoid anal intercourse as well as vaginal intercourse.
