Hi I was recently caught picking up an iPad in work.. My intention was to go around looking for the person and return it to the owner. I look around for quite long and nv found the onwner so I took it back with me had all the data erase.

I was charge with sec 380- 224. What are my chances? I am a first time offender. And I do not have bad intention. I guess cctv saw me trying to look for the owner too.

I was suppose to hand it over to the security but I didn't as I do not trust them. Bad move. I look ard for the person but nv saw anyone. At the end I took it for myself wash all the data and brought it home. However I nv use it placing it on my table because I felt guilty after that and intend to return sometime later. But they caught me instead. I told the police these and was written in the statement but he said that it looks like excuses to him. What should I do?

And sorry, the "good intention" stopped when you did not turn it in, and all sorts of bad intentions started when you had it erased.

You found an iPod, you looked for the owner, you had the iPod erased... and security thinks that's a made up story? That makes two of us. Ridiculous.

Why would you erase an iPod if you were looking for the owner unless you intended to keep it.

Stealing is dealt with harshly in Singapore - but I'm sure you know that.
