How can I help prevent a child from becoming easily upset?
    Hi,

Actually, my question is in the title.

I would like to know some tips that help me prevent my child become an easily-upset boy in future.

    Thank you

Does he get upset quickly and easily? Are you always trying to calm him down? Like Fr_Chuck asked, it would help to know how old he is--2 or 8 or 15?

    He is 1 year old.
He is not an easily-upset boy but I want to to know if there are some tips that would help me to PREVENT him to BECOME an easily-upset child? Or I can't and it is inherent ?

You must be consistent in what you tell him. For instance, if he is three years old and you promise ice cream, you will have to give ice cream, unless there is a very strong reason why you can't.

There are many books about how best to parent a new baby, toddler, young child, and an older child. Is there a public library nearby?

At his age now, be kind but firm and please don't slap him or hit him--or allow anyone else to do that. Also at his age, the easiest thing to do is remove him from problem situations--pick him up and move him somewhere else or substitute a bad thing with a good thing. Always talk to him and tell him stories and read books to him and sit on the floor to play with him.

    :) tell him Santa exists.

Haha, or just stay quite firm.. if you pamper him too much he'll be surprised when he meets other strict people (school :/)
Of course pamper him a bit! Just not so much he's spoilt.
