First most non complete agreements are hard to enforce and normally will not hold up in many courts just because it is a unfair trade issue, limiting personal freedom and a 100 other issues. I have broken two and won both, but of course I had to hire an attorney and go to court over them.

But in general, no only time voids out the agreement from a straight legal standpoint unless their closing was part of the contract.

There are many ways around these, but you need a good employment attorney to review your agreement and tell you how it works in your state anre area.
