    Breeding rabbit
Hey, well I'm 14 next year and I have got a 1O week old baby rabbit, she's gorgeous! And I was planning on breeding her. I looked up breeding rabbits, and read everything, obviously she can't breed till she's older, but I suppose it gives me more time to look up and learn! Then, once reading your comments and other things what could go wrong.. I think its made me think a little:/ could you give me some advice please? Stuck on what to do? I don't want too shorten her life or make her hurt herself?xx

There are already thousands... millions of rabbits who are in need of homes. Breeding her will in fact shorten her life and leave her susceptible to ovarian/mammary cancers. Unaltered rabbits are less tame, and less of a family pet.

I think you should really consider having her desexed and keep her as a friendly, healthy house pet.

    Good luck!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww! Now I want a bunny too! All I have are cats who can't wiggle their noses (although they do their best to look adorable).

OMG she is adorable! Love the color!

I had my female rabbit desexed a few years ago and couldn't be happier with the choice, she was much calmer and a lot less grumpy afterwards.

From memory it was around $120 but I'm in Australia, it's not cheap, but well worth it when you consider the average unaltered rabbit lives around 4-6 years, while a desexed rabbit can live up to 12.

I had my male bunny neutered for $70. Any operation carries a risk and it's best to seek out a vet who is experienced in dealing with rabbits as they do have a delicate respiratory system.
