Can a P-Trap double back on itself
I am moving a shower in the basement and the main line split off too close too the middle of the shower to fit the trap in at a relatively straight line. Is there anything wrong with making it double back on itself

Can you sketch us a diagram of what you are trying to do?

    Though I did oops.

The vertical and horizontal pipes would be close to touching

That would be just fine. You can align the trap any way it will fit.

And I'll close the case by adjourning the court. As long as your shower's vented your "P" trap will be just fine. Good luck, Tom
