How high should the flange be?
Should it be flush with the new tile I just installed? Or sitting on top?

I set my flange flush with finished floor whenever possible. Flange on top can cause excess wax to squish out and partially block the closet bend.

    Hi Rebaab

It doesn't really make a difference. Plumbing code calls for the flange to set on TOP of the finished floor, but setting the flange flush with the finish floor works just fine, as Bob indicated... ;)

Both great answers. In my area the tile men complete their work.
We then come in and complete the trim out. We cut the toilet stub up flush with the floor and install the flange on top of the tile. Regards. Tom
