This seems like a great board. I've read several basement bathroom threads, but I haven't been able to get my question answered, so here is another basement bathroom thread.

I want to add a small bathroom in my basement. The location would be on the back wall of my house about 6 feet away from the main line that leads to my septic tank which exits under the slab. I would prefer not to add a false floor or a grinder pump. Is there any way to tie into the septic system outside? (This may be a dumb question. )

I do plan on hiring a plumber to rough in whatever I decide on, but I thought I would ask here first.

Hey Matt,

We don't get dumb questions but we sometimes give dumb answers. It all depends upon the toilet drain lines elevation in relationship to the sewer main drain. Will it be higher after taking up the cement and installing a closet bend? If so you're home free. Regards, Tom

Thanks Matt! I'm on the mend. If you will have slope to the sewer main after the underground work goes down then you won't have to platform the floor. Use a hubless closet bend and keep it as close under the pour as possible. Good luck, Tom
