How to wire bathroom light with 6 wires?
We are replacing our bathroom vanity but there are 2 wires coming out of the wall. One is to the breaker and the other is to the light switch. There is also the wire from the light fixture. So I have 3 black, 3 white, and 3 grounds total. If we hook up all black to black white to white etc. The light stays on and the switch doesn't work and it trips the breaker. Does anyone know how to correctly wire this?

You need to have 2 wires through the switch. However, we don't know how your house was wired, through the switch or by a switch loop. First, you need to find out which black is the hot, it may be at the ceiling or at one of the cable ends. If it is through wired, the hot from the breaker goes to the bottom of the switch. The other black goes to the other end of the switch and is connected to the black at the light. All whites are connected and all grounds are connected. Let us know what you find and we will try to go from there.
