My 1996 accord engine light came on and I cleaned the EGR system. It stopped for a month and it came back on. I took to autozone who stated that it is the EGR valve malfunction. Do you have any idea if that is the problem (EGR valve... even after I cleaned it up too)? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Jv

Besides the valve, thoroughly clean any passages in the intake manifold. Full synthetic engine oil helps prevent EGR system problems, due to its lower NOACK Volatility. It keeps everything much cleaner.
