I smoked, well I don't know what I was doing, but I guess I had 4 pulls on some marijuina and kept in haling and blowing it back out... I really didn't no what I was doing... it was about a month and a half ago... I just took a hair follicle test will it be positive you think?

Makes no difference. Cannabis can build up in chronic users but the key is frequency and amount smoked. In addition hair testing isn't nearly as effective for marijuana use as for other base drugs.Quote:

How did you take 4 or 5 pulls without knowing what you were doing?
I am not aware of anyone smoking bongs 2-3 times a week and passing a hair follicle test.

I did it one day not 2-3 times a week I may have said it wrong on oct 1st I took 3 to 4 swiggs/pulls on one joint and that was it. What is a bong?

Hair testing does not have uniform sensitivity in relation to all drugs tested for. As example, cocaine is easy to detect in hair because it is incorporated into the hair. To put it basically, cocaine likes hair and attaches to it.
Not so with THC and even less so with THC-COOH (COOH is what they test for) both metabolites of cannabis. Neither metabolite of cannabis likes hair and simply doesn't get into and attach to hair, compared with other drugs. THC, and especially the main metabolite THC-COOH, have a very low incorporation rate (ICR) into hair. (see Musshoff & Madea)
As example, there is a 3600-fold difference between the ICR of cocaine and that of THC-COOH in hair... Unlike for other illicit drugs, hair analysis lacks
The sensitivity to act as a detector for cannabinoids.. (Musshoff, pp 161-62)
Marilyn Huestis, National Institutes of Health, published a very thorough study on this subject. (Huestis, 2007)
The chance that you would have COOH in your system is very, very low.
There is a wider issue involved. Marijuana is the most tested for substance in the US. People have the idea that drugs somehow get into the hair via circulation all at the same rate of incorporation and stay there for a long period. Not true.
Those paying for a hair drug test, far more expensive than urine, should be advised that only heavy marijuana use is likely to show up and that urine assays are far more effective. False negatives are the rule rather than the exception when assaying low to moderate smokers via hair. (See Huestis, above) This leads to a false sense of security in parents and schools where hair testing is widely used. Marijuana use is not being detected until use is frequent and heavy (if hair test is sole method). These facts are not properly disclosed by the commercial testing labs.

Probably so. Amphetamines have a greater affinity for hair than THC but most drugs aren't detected in hair* unless used in heavy dose (binge) or with some frequency. It isn't a matter of how long a substance stays in hair rather if it is incorporated in the first place.
*cocaine is a notable exception

Recovering addict with 3 years clean until I relapsed on Nov. 3rd in a big way. My addiction has always been with pain pills but I tried Heroin on Nov 3rd because I'm an addict.
Here is the question: I did heroin on Nov 3rd. It was a half CC of I don't know. The guy who gave it to me told me it was a weak dose or what he would call half a hit. I also took three Loratab 10's on the 4th. I've been clean since then and have started hitting my NA meetings after 1 year of not going.
I have a possible hair follicle test coming on Nov. 28th in a child custody case. I know THC is not very detectable but I don't know if opiates/single use of heroin will show up on the test... I'm just an idiot.
