I saw a friend the other day,
All scarlet wrapped and running away.
As if it wanted me to follow its lead,
By stepping back and blowing away.

Can anyone help with this riddle

Is the friend a kite? It has to be blown away from you to play with it and you have to run away from it to get it going.
