And can his parents find out if he is removed or not?

Where do you live?
Are you both over 18? (What do his parents have to do with this.. )
What does the lease say? Is this a typical year lease or other?
Is this a private building or public housing?
Does he want to move out and leave you paying the whole rent?

Only your landlord can release him from your lease. You have to ask the landlord. But if the landlord feels you can pay the rent on your own, he may do that. Or he may not to make sure he has someone else to go after for the rent.

Why does he want out? And What do his parents have to do with it? Unless his parents are co-signers on the lease, there is no reason for them to be informed.
