Is it legal to put anybody down as the father on a birth certificate?
My boyfriend and I want to raise my daughter as our own and he wants to be on her birth certificate as the father, is that legal in the state of Florida? Or should we wait till were married for him to adopt her?

If he is not the real father and he and you know he is not. Then it is fraud to put him down and he and you can be charged with it, esp if the bio father proves it and challeges it in court.

After the child is born, the bio father will have to agree to sign over his rights for adoption. You will have to be married for about a year to file for adoption.

Your boyfriend's name should not go on the birth certificate if he is not the biological father. After you and your boyfriend marry, you can file a joint Petition for Stepparent Adoption. The biological father must sign a Consent form or at the very least be notified of the pending adoption.
