    Power outage - partial
I plug a lamp up in one of my wall outlet last night and then we lost power in that room and the one that is connected to it but there is still power upstairs and on the opposite side of the house. What could have cause this? This wall socket has not been use since we moved in the house in October.

    Need more info.

Could be wire disconnected from outlet.

    Could be circuit breaker tripped.

Could be u lost half of 220 in breaker box.

    Could be short in outlet.

These are a few things could be wrong.

None of the switches was tripped in the breaker box.(panelbox)
The power was lost after the lamp was plugged in.
The power was lost in that room and the room connected to it.

We flipped all the switches in the breaker box and still no power.

Has not check the GFI outlets.

Most likely the wire connections to that or another receptacle is loose, and most likely it is a push in connection, popular reason for loose connections.

Best to strip back to clean wire and wrap around screw connection.
