A student moves a box of books down the hall
By pulling on a rope attached to the box. The
Student pulls with a force of 179 N at an angle
    Of 31.0

Above the horizontal. The box has a
Mass of 37.4 kg, and µk between the box and
    The floor is 0.23.
The acceleration of gravity is 9.81 m/s
    2
    .
Find the acceleration of the box.
    Answer in units of m/s

Find the reaction force of the floor on the box by using the vertical component of the force coming from the rope. Using that force, find the frictional force.

Then find the horizontal component of the force coming from the rope and find the net force from this force and the frictional force.

Finally, use F = ma to get the acceleration of the box.
