How do you connect a 2 speed switch with 3 wires to 2 wires?
I am replacing a 2 speed switch for my range hood exhaust and I mistakenly did not note the way the old switch was wired and now I don't know what wires go where. The switch has 3 wires and controls the fan only but I only have 2 wires for the AC power so I am confused. I hope someone can tell me how to connect the 3 wire switch to the 2 AC wires. Thanks!

You need to get the correct switch.

I bought the same switch that I removed. I don't recall the way it was wired.

Then I cannot say. I don't know why your switch would have three wires but only two to hook up in the hood.

You'll need to get the wiring diagram from the manufacturer. You won't find and stock diagram.
