Trying to remove a closet flange. Pipe coming up to toilet is copper. The flange looks loke brass or copper. Is this all one piece? How to remove flange?

    Hi Jilljay...

That is not an easy thing to do for most DIYs.

First, tell me why you want to remove the brass flange? Is it broken? If so, I may have a fix for that... ;)

Is the pipe accessible from underneath... is the floor wide open now? Let me know more, OK?

The flange id brass and it's soldered on. Answer Marks questions and I have some of my own.
Do you wish to replace with another brass flange? What happened to the old flange that bit must be replaced. Slot broke? No problem. They sell a flange repair kit,(see image) that just may save you a lot of hassle.
Would that help? Back to you, Tom
