    Every morning you jog around 250 meter track four times in 30 minutes. What is your average speed and average velocity?

    Average speed = distance covered divided by time. So simply determine how far 4 laps around the track is and divide by the time it takes. This will give you average speed in meters/minute. You may want to convert to meters per second.

    Average velocity = distance between starting and ending points (which is actually a vector quantity) divided by time. Here's a hint - since the jogger goes around a track and completes 4 laps he ends up where he started, right? Can you take it from here?
