Pregnant while breastfeeding and no period yet?
I am still breastfeeding my 14 month old daughter. I have not gotten my period yet. However, I recently started spotting (about 6 days after having sex). The spotting is light (pink, some red and some brown) and has been going on for about 4 days now. It hardly gets onto a pad. It mostly comes off when I wipe after peeing. Now I know that implantation bleeding can occur 6-10 days after sex. I thought I was having implantation bleeding but it's been going on for 4 days now. My normal period would be much heavier and darker in colour. Or could this be a very light period since I have not received my period yet? I plan on testing in the next couple of days but wanted to hear from you if there are similar experiences out there. Do periods come on very slowly once they return post partum?

Mine came on VERY heavy. I was going through a pad every half hour to hour for a week. Then it slowed. My period lasted almost 3 weeks.

That is probably the best idea. To test.

Personally, Every women is different. My wife's first period after pregnancy was light and hardly lasted as long as it normally does. Instead of 7 days it was only 3 days. Instead of heavy cramping and bleeding. There was no cramping and it was light.

I have that very same question! Exactly!! Except I have yet to have any kids and about two days ago I started having this pink discharge! I have taken many pt but they all come up negative! How long do I have to wait because my actual period doesn't start for another 2 days and I have never spotted before!!

First let me congratulate you for breastfeeding for 14 months, you've given your daughter a wonderful start in life.
Are you still exclusively breastfeeding? i.e.. During the day and night, and not giving other liquids? Have you started to feed less? A decrease in breastfeeding can indue your period to come back. Some ladies have spotting, some the full monty.

If your still breastfeeding on demand and in the night, it's unlikely your pregnant, but of course you won't really know until you take a test.

I went for a blood test today. I won't find out until Monday... ugh now I have to wait the whole weekend. I won't do a HPT as the blood test is more conclusive. I won't waste my money.

I didn't mention before but I have been using ovulation detector strips. I had a Leutenizing Hormone (LH) surge on January 31. We had sex that night and the next. I then started to spot on February 7 for about 5-6 days (exactly the amount of time for implantation bleeding to begin). The spotting was very very very light for the entire time. There was pink spotting, some red and some brown. I am not exclusively breastfeeding my daughter she has other liquids. I don't breastfeed her during the day anymore. I breastfeed her in the morning before her nap and at night before bed. I also do it in the night if she gets up.

I got pregnant exactly 4 weeks after giving birth to my first, I was also breastfeeding at the time, so it is still possible. If I were you I would ask the doctor to take a pregnancy blood test.

I'm really interested to know what the outcome was because I'm experiencing just what you've described. My son is almost 16 months and I breastfeed him first thing in the morning, before his nap and at night before bed. I don't breastfeed during the night or during the day except for these times. I'm hoping that I am pregnant but I'll wait to see what else happens over the next couple of weeks. I'm just wondering what happened with your situation.
