Just had Gibson A/C heater installed this past summer. Now that winter is here I notice when furnace is running, water is dripping from the pipe where the water drains when the air is running. Is this normal? This unit replace a 40 yer old unit.

Yes, this is perfectly normal. You most likely have a new high efficiency furnace. All furnacs that are 90+ eff have a condensate drain. They will actually put out a good amount of water. No worrys here. Take care, and enjoy your new furnace.

Yep, agree with MGD77. My 92% heater will run the condensate pump every 1/2 hr or so.

ma0641, you should see some of the 95.5 eff furnaces. They put out a good deal of condensation. We actually have installed some boilers and tankless water heaters that are 98 eff, and they drain like a siv. I have seen people do their own work and just put a five gallon bucket under the drain thinking they will only have to empty it once a month or so, only to find out they have to empty it at least daily. That's when they hire us to install a condensate pump,lol. (of course that's when there is no floor drain near by).
