I have been sexually inactive since July 1st, of this year had my period on August, by taking Provera prescribed by my Doctor since my periods have been kind of crazy. September, October and November came and nothing, its been a few weeks and all I have been seeing is brown discharge with different types of dark or light brown, and what looks like little bits of pieces of something. Do not know if its old blood clots or something. Please help, getting nervous here!

Background; I was experiencing a brief but erratic cycle at one point in my life and was prescribed Provera to regulate my then cycle… I went from a 32 day cycle to all over the place. Firstly, I have no need for any contraception as my partner is sniped; secondly I was on the edge of starting menopause without all the horror symptoms. Yet I simply needed something to control this irregular clock for minimal disruption whilst on holidays.

Experience: Here enters Provera (tables) and a holiday where my cycle just went on and on and on. So much for romance! Hence I did further research on the side-effects: - increases risk for osteoporotic fracture later in life and never looked back! Personally, if we are all susceptible to Osteoporosis in later life, why accelerate the process/damage with this particular drug? It is not reversible! Find another alternative if possible.

However all that you have described are correct of those side-effects, plus your body is perhaps telling you something is not normal here also. So take the precaution of seeing your Doctor and start keeping a health journal.
